Description continued...
Did you know that Ben Franklin and his son fought on opposite sides in the Revolutionary War, or that the classical composers Haydn and Mozart were close friends who played in a string quartet together? Through the course of the album we meet other fascinating people like Amelia Earhart, Tito Puente, and King Tut. Ralph’s familiar energetic rock style is complemented by a range of new sounds drawn from his historical travels, including the 1930’s Afro-Cuban flavor of the song Gato Negro and the Charleston rhythms of the song Cat’s Meow. Other new favorites among young fans include the title track, Time Machine Guitar, that spins the story of how Ralph acquired his magical six-string, the soul grooves of Ben Franklin’s Mole, and the bristling ‘90’s pop of Christopher Columbus Sailed. Featuring a 28 page CD book that includes background information on the historical figures we meet on the album and notes highlighting the musical influences of the songs, Time Machine Guitar is a historical adventure that points toward the bright future of Ralph’s World music. |
