Nancy Covert Self Portrait, either as Art Print or Printed Canvas
This self-portrait was painted by my youngest sister Nancy. She was born with Down Syndrome, but still graduated high school. In the early 90s, she was struck by a car while on her way to her work, and suffered traumatic brain injury. She emerged from a coma quadriplegic, but through much hard work in physical therapy on her part and with the incredible support of our parents she became mobile again and regained the use of her limbs. One of Nancy’s favorite activities has been an arts group she participates in every week, and she painted this beautiful self-portrait there. It really captures her personality and spirit, and is a marvelous reflection of her indomitable strength.
